Welcome to Pedigree Tool (the “Service”), a web-based pedigree drawing and visualization tool. The Service is owned and operated by Ezgi Yavuz and Bastian Schuele (“we,” “us,” or “our”).These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our Service.

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. License and Permitted Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and use the Service strictly for academic, educational, or research purposes, subject to these Terms. You agree that you will not:

a) Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Service.

b) Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service or any part thereof.

c) Use the Service for any purpose that is illegal or prohibited by these Terms.

d) Use the Service in violation of any applicable laws, including data protection and privacy regulations.

3. Beta Access and Trial Period

The Service is currently offered in a beta phase (“Beta Access”). From the date of your registration until January 1, 2026, the Service is available free of charge for evaluation purposes.

After this period, continued access to the Service will require a paid license. We will provide you with at least thirty (30) days’ notice via the email address associated with your account before any charges are applied for continued use.

4. Clinical Use Disclaimer

**THIS SERVICE IS NOT A CLINICAL DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.**

The Service is provided for informational, educational, and research purposes only. It is not certified, approved, or intended for clinical diagnostic use, including but not limited to patient care, medical decision-making, or any use where incorrect output could lead to personal injury or harm. You are solely responsible for validating the accuracy and appropriateness of any output generated by the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its design, layout, code, pedigree symbols, and all other materials, are and will remain the exclusive property of Pedigree Tool and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the Netherlands and foreign countries.

6. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described therein. You are solely responsible for the legality and security of any data you input into the Service. We do not store, and you agree not to upload, any identifiable personal health information (PHI).

7. Warranty Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PEDIGREE TOOL, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OR EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Pedigree Tool and its employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including for a breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make changes, we will provide notice by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of these Terms and, in some cases, we may provide additional notice (such as by sending you a notification). Your continued use of the Service after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
